Midwest Security Executives Recognized
for Outstanding Leadership at the Information Security Executive of
the Year Midwest Award™ 2005
ATLANTA, Ga., May 16, 2005 – Executive Alliance,

today announced that Kim Van Nostern, Chief Security
Officer of Allstate Insurance Company (Northbrook,
IL), was named the winner of the Information
Security Executive (ISE) of the Year Midwest Award 2005 and the
winner of the ISE Midwest's People's Choice
Award™.
The finalists for the prestigious award included Michael Assante,
Chief Security Officer of American Electric Power (Columbus,
OH), Mark Bruhn, Chief IT Security and Policy Officer
at Indiana University, (Bloomington, IN), Todd
Fitzgerald, Systems Security Officer for United
Government Services (Milwaukee, WI) and Eric Schmidt,
Chief Security Officer for the Indiana University School
of Medicine (Indianapolis, IN).
The winner and finalists were selected among many of the Midwest's
leading security pioneers at the premier information security executive
recognition forum held on the evening of May
12, 2005 at the Fairmont Hotel
in Chicago Illinois.
The ISE Midwest Awards honor the achievements of today's information
security pioneers and recognizes excellence in managing enterprise-wide
network and Internet security systems in the Upper Midwest region of
Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, Indiana, Ohio, Iowa and Wisconsin.
The ISE Nominees were evaluated by a distinguished panel of judges
based on information they submitted outlining their effectiveness in
managing internal security organizations, mentoring and motivating staff
members and developing innovative security strategies and solutions
to meet business challenges.
