Call for Nominations Underway for First Annual
Information Security Executive (ISE) of the Year Mid-Atlantic Award™ 2006
Executive Alliance Inaugurates Fifth of Six U.S. Regions at Executive Forum and Gala to be held in Washington, DC
ATLANTA, Ga., March 28, 2006 – Executive Alliance, creator and provider of premium leadership-recognition forums, announced today the Call for Nominations is now underway for the first annual Information Security Executive (ISE) of the Year Mid-Atlantic Award. Nomination forms for this prestigious award are currently available at www.infosecaward.com and will be accepted through Friday, May 5, 2006. The winner will be announced at a gala celebration to be held at the JW Marriott Hotel Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington, DC, on Thursday evening, June 22, 2006.
Built upon the foundation of the very successful ISE Award Program Series™ the Mid-Atlantic Award will be inaugurated this June and will be presented to a chief security officer or an executive in an equivalent position who has overall responsibility for network and/or Internet security and who demonstrates outstanding leadership in the field of information security. Nominees are accepted from the Mid-Atlantic states of Delaware, Kentucky, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, and Washington DC.
Since this award applauds the information security professionals whom have made a contribution to their organization and the industry, nominations are encouraged from security executives in all private and public companies, as well as government agencies and academic institutions. These nominees will be evaluated by a distinguished panel of industry experts and past ISE nominees and winners to determine five finalists and a winner.
Award Criteria
The Information Security Executive of the Year is defined as a leader who guides the effective use of information/Internet/network security to improve his or her company's cyber security posture while proactively implementing security technology and processes. This person can be a CSO, CISO, CTO, CIO, vice president, director or manager from IT, networking or security departments, but cannot be an information security vendor or services provider. Other characteristics of the Information Security Executive should include the following:
- Must be primarily responsible for the information security performance of the company or organization
- Promotes a security vision that supports the organization's strategy
- Must be a member of management
- Must have a proven track record of information security leadership
- Must be employed by a business or oversee the security infrastructure of a subsidiary that is located in Delaware, Kentucky, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia and Washington, DC.
- Creates work environments that are positive and rewarding to employees
- Finalists should attend the awards reception and gala on the evening of Thursday, June 22, 2006 at the JW Marriott Hotel Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington, DC.
