The Official Call for Nominations for the Third Annual Information Security Executive (ISE) of the Year National Award™ 2006 is Now Open


Information Security Execs from across the US to Investigate Risk Management Strategies during Computer Security Institute (CSI) Executive Retreat Featuring the ISE National Awards

ATLANTA, Ga., August 8, 2006- Executive Alliance, creator and provider of premium leadership-recognition forums announced today the Call for Nominations is now underway for the third annual Information Security Executive (ISE) of the Year National Award 2006. Nomination forms for this prestigious award are currently available at www.infosecaward.com and will be accepted through Friday, September 15, 2006. The winner will be announced at a gala awards ceremony which is to be the anchor event of the CSI Executive Retreat Featuring the ISE National Awards at the Gaylord Palms Resort in Orlando Florida, November 5-7, 2006.

The ISE National Award will be presented to a chief security officer or an executive in an equivalent position who demonstrates outstanding leadership and has overall responsibility for risk management, data asset protection, regulatory compliance, privacy and/or information/network security. The nomination criteria have been expanded to recognize the diverse role of the Information Security Executive in today's environment. Nominees are accepted from throughout the United States.

Since the ISE National Award recognizes best practices that transcend industry and technology boundaries, nominations are encouraged from security executives in all private and public companies, as well as government agencies and academic institutions. These nominees will be evaluated by a distinguished panel of industry experts and past ISE nominees and winners to determine five finalists and a winner.

 

Award Criteria

The Information Security Executive (ISE) of the Year is defined as a leader who guides the company's risk management, data asset protection, privacy and network security efforts to improve the enterprise cyber security posture while proactively implementing security technology and processes. This person can be a CSO, CISO, CTO, CIO, vice president, or director from IT, networking or security departments, but cannot be an information security vendor or services provider. Other characteristics of the Information Security Executive should include the following:

  • Primarily responsible for the risk management, data asset protection, regulatory compliance, privacy and/or information/network security performance of the company or organization
  • Promotes a risk management and security vision that supports the organization's strategy
  • Member of management (director level or above)
  • Proven track record of information security leadership
  • Employed by a business or oversee the security infrastructure of a subsidiary that is located in the United States
  • Creates work environments that are positive and rewarding to employees
  • Nominees are encouraged and Finalists are requested to attend the awards reception and gala on the evening of Monday, November 6, 2006, at the Gaylord Palms Resort in Orlando, Florida

The Awards Gala and Ceremony are part of a three day program of events which will be produced alongside the CSI 33 rd Annual Computer Security Conference and Exhibition. Adding a new dimension to the event, Executive Alliance and CSI will blend the celebration of the ISE Awards with an executive track comprised of cutting-edge CSI presentations, speakers and content along with industry forums. Symantec Corporation will be the ISE National Award Terabyte Sponsor for the second year in a row. In this role, Symantec will enhance the program with events and activities designed to foster peer-to-peer interaction and relationship-building for the program attendees. Geared toward business and technology leadership, the CSI Executive Retreat Featuring the ISE National Awards will be a compelling event for the leaders of the industry.
