Executive Alliance and the Computer Security Institute (CSI) Announce Winner of Information Security Executive (ISE) of the Year National Awards™ 2006
MassMutual's CISO Bruce Bonsall and Executives from Chevron Corporation, General Motors,
Johnson & Johnson and State of Oregon Recognized
ATLANTA, Ga., November 7, 2006 -
Executive Alliance, creator and provider of premium leadership-recognition forums, announced today that Bruce Bonsall, Chief Information Security Officer and 2nd Vice President, MassMutual Financial Group, has been named the winner of the prestigious Information Security Executive (ISE) of the Year National Award 2006. Mr. Bonsall was selected in respect of his ability to infuse security into the culture of the MassMutual organization. He and fifty other nominees were honored at a gala reception and awards ceremony held as the anchor event of the CSI Executive Retreat Featuring the ISE National Awards at the Gaylord Palms Resort in Orlando, Florida.
Eric Litt, Chief Information Security Officer, General Motors Corporation was named the ISE/ CSI Members' Choice Award winner. He was selected by industry peers through an online voting process.
Five ISE Finalists, including Mr. Bonsall and Mr. Litt were showcased during the evening event. The other finalists are Theresa Masse, Chief Information Security Officer, State of Oregon, Joseph Moorcones, Vice President, Worldwide Information Security, Johnson & Johnson and Richard Jackson, Chief Information Protection Officer and General Manager, Global Information Risk Management, Chevron Corporation.
The ISE National Award celebrates the accomplishments of the information security industry and its leaders. The honor is awarded to a chief security officer or an executive in an equivalent position who has overall responsibility for risk management, data asset protection, regulatory compliance, privacy and information security. This is the third annual ISE National Award Program which is held in conjunction with the CSI Computer Security Conference and Exhibition; applicants from across the United States were eligible to be nominated. The ISE Award Program Series™ will enter its fifth year in 2007 and has expanded in the past two years to include six regions, now covering the entire United States and reflecting the exponential growth in requirements for information security, privacy protection and risk management.
In addition to Mr. Bonsall's and Mr. Litt's awards, honors were bestowed to Stephen R. Katz, Founder & President of Security Risk Solutions, LLC, as the ISE Luminary Leadership Award Winner and to Kristin Parker, Senior Associate,
Booz, Allen, Hamilton as the ISE Rising Star Award Winner.
