Call for Nominations Underway for Second Annual
Information Security Executive of the Year
Tri-State Award™ 2006
Executive Alliance Returns to New York City to Recognize Information Security Leaders in Connecticut, New Jersey and New York
ATLANTA, Ga., July 13, 2006 - Executive Alliance, creator and provider of premium leadership-recognition forums, announced today the Call for Nominations is now underway for the second annual Information Security Executive (ISE) of the Year Tri-State Award 2006. Nomination forms for this prestigious award are currently available at www.infosecaward.com and will be accepted through Friday, August 25, 2006. The winner will be announced at a gala celebration to be held at the Marriott Marquis Times Square in New York City on Thursday evening, October 26, 2006.
The ISE Tri-State Award will be presented to a chief security officer or an executive in an equivalent position who demonstrates outstanding leadership and has overall responsibility for risk management, data asset protection, regulatory compliance, privacy and/or information/network security. The nomination criteria have been expanded to recognize the diverse role of the ISE in today's environment. Nominees are accepted from the states of Connecticut, New Jersey and New York.
Since the ISE Tri-State Award recognizes best practices that transcend industry and technology boundaries, nominations are encouraged from security executives in all private and public companies, as well as government agencies and academic institutions. These nominees will be evaluated by a distinguished panel of industry experts and past ISE nominees and winners to determine five finalists and a winner.
Award Criteria
The Information Security Executive (ISE) of the Year is defined as a leader who guides the company's risk management, data asset protection, privacy and network security efforts to improve the enterprise cyber security posture while proactively implementing security technology and processes. This person can be a CSO, CISO, CTO, CIO, vice president, or director from IT, networking or security departments, but cannot be an information security vendor or services provider. Other characteristics of the Information Security Executive should include the following:
- Primarily responsible for the risk management, data asset protection, regulatory compliance, privacy and/or information/network security performance of the company or organization
- Promotes a risk management and security vision that supports the organization's strategy
- Member of management
- Proven track record of information security leadership
- Employed by a business or oversee the security infrastructure of a subsidiary that is located in Connecticut, New Jersey or New York
- Creates work environments that are positive and rewarding to employees
- Nominees are encouraged and Finalists are requested to attend the awards reception and gala on the evening of Thursday, October 26, 2006, at the Marriott Marquis Times Square in New York City
The Awards Gala and Ceremony follow a day-long program of events including the ISE Executive Forum which is held in the afternoon, also at the Marriott Marquis. The Executive Forum allows the nominees and their peers a chance to discuss industry issues, challenges and solutions.
