Call for Nominations Underway for First Annual Information Security Executive (ISE) of the Year West Award™ 2006
Executive Alliance Expands Nomination Criteria and Partners with ISSA CISO Executive Membership to Produce Two Day Program in San Francisco, CA
ATLANTA, Ga., June 5, 2006-
Executive Alliance, creator and provider of premium leadership-recognition forums, announced today the Call for Nominations is now underway for the first annual Information Security Executive (ISE) of the Year West Award 2006. Nomination forms for this prestigious award are currently available at www.infosecaward.com and will be accepted through Friday, July 28, 2006. The winner will be announced at a gala celebration to be held at the W San Francisco Hotel on Thursday evening, September 21, 2006.
Built upon the foundation of the very successful ISE Award Program Series™, the ISE West Award will be inaugurated this season and will be presented to a chief security officer or an executive in an equivalent position who demonstrates outstanding leadership and has overall responsibility for risk management, data asset protection, regulatory compliance, privacy and/or information/network security. The nomination criteria have been expanded to recognize the diverse role of the ISE in today's environment. Nominees are accepted from the states of Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming.
Providing added content to the award gala and other networking events held on September 21, Executive Alliance has partnered with the ISSA CISO Executive Membership to host a 2 nd day Executive Forum on Friday, September 22, 2006. This forum will bring together the ISE West Nominees and leading security executives from the region for panel discussions, presentations and interactive group discussions.
Since the ISE West Award recognizes best practices that transcend industry and technology boundaries, nominations are encouraged from security executives in all private and public companies, as well as government agencies and academic institutions. These nominees will be evaluated by a distinguished panel of industry experts and past ISE nominees and winners to determine five finalists and a winner.
Award Criteria
The Information Security Executive (ISE) of the Year is defined as a leader who guides the company's risk management, data asset protection, privacy and network security efforts to improve the enterprise cyber security posture while proactively implementing security technology and processes. This person can be a CSO, CISO, CTO, CIO, vice president, director or manager from IT, networking or security departments, but cannot be an information security vendor or services provider. Other characteristics of the Information Security Executive should include the following:
- Primarily responsible for the risk management, data asset protection, regulatory compliance, privacy and/or information/network security performance of the company or organization
- Promotes a risk management and security vision that supports the organization's strategy
- Member of management
- Proven track record of information security leadership
- Employed by a business or oversee the security infrastructure of a subsidiary that is located in Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington, or Wyoming.
- Creates work environments that are positive and rewarding to employees
- Nominees are encouraged and Finalists are requested to attend the awards reception and gala on the evening of Thursday, September 21, 2006 at the W San Francisco Hotel in San Francisco, CA.
