ATLANTA, Ga., July 25, 2006- Executive Alliance, creator and provider of premium leadership-recognition forums, announced today a panel of judges has been called to select five finalists and a winner for the first annual Information Security Executive (ISE) of the Year West Award 2006. The ISE West Award™ will be presented to a leading, executive security officer selected from nominees in the states of Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington, or Wyoming

The judges will consider new nomination criteria that have been expanded in light of the growing and diversified role of Chief Information Security Officers and Chief Security Officers. The award will be presented to a chief security officer or an executive in an equivalent position who demonstrates outstanding leadership within the expanded criteria of excellence in risk management, data asset protection, regulatory compliance, privacy and/or information/network security.

As with the other regional ISE programs, the ISE West Judges Panel will consist of industry veterans that include ISE Alumni who are previous winners, finalists and nominees. The ISE West Judges Panel includes:

After reviewing the nomination applications, the ISE West judges will meet in San Francisco in late August to determine five finalists and a winner. The results of the judging will be revealed at the ISE of the Year West Awards Gala and Ceremony to be held at the W San Francisco on September 21, 2006. One of several events within a 2 day program, the Awards Ceremony will recognize and celebrate all the nominees as well as showcase the five finalists, the winner and a People's Choice Award Winner.

Providing added content to the award gala and other networking and celebratory events held on September 21, Executive Alliance has partnered with the ISSA CISO Executive Membership to host a 2 nd day Executive Forum on Friday, September 22, 2006 (also to be held at the W San Francisco.) This forum will bring together the ISE West Nominees, ISSA CISO members and leading security executives from the region for panel discussions, presentations and interactive group discussions.

Nominations are accepted through July 28, 2006

Since the ISE West Award recognizes best practices that transcend industry and technology boundaries, nominations are encouraged for security executives in all private and public companies, as well as government agencies and academic institutions.
