Nominations for the ISE Central Award™ Program 2008

ISE AwardThe ISE Central Awards 2008 recognizes the individual who has demonstrated outstanding leadership in the field of information security. Awarded to chief security officers, or executives in equivalent positions, the ISE Central Awards 2008 honors exemplary achievement and excellence in managing enterprise-wide Internet, wireless and network security systems. These pivotal members of the technology community play instrumental roles in ensuring the safety and security of the corporate enterprise and that of the nation. This award applauds the information security pioneers whom have made a lasting contribution to the business community and economy.

In 2008, a new "Project Award" has been added, the Information Security Project of the Year Central Awards. Focusing on a project completed in the past 12-18 months that has had an impact to an organization's risk management or information security posture, this award brings to light the team behind the work.

Nominees and Project teams for the ISE Central Awards will have the opportunity to network with fellow security professionals and executive peers. The award gala will be a premiere forum to showcase the nominees’ achievements as well as those of his/her organization. Nominees will gain visibility both personally and professionally as pioneers in the growing security industry.

 

ISE Central Award Requirements

Information Security Executive of the Year Central Award Requirements
The Information Security Executive of the Year is defined as a leader who guides the effective use of information/Internet/network security to improve his or her company's cyber security posture while proactively implementing security technology and processes. This person can be a CSO, CISO, CTO, CIO, vice president, director or manager from IT, networking or security departments, but cannot be an information security vendor or services provider. Other characteristics of the Information Security Executive should include the following:
  • Primarily responsible for the information security performance of the company or organization
  • Promotes a security vision that supports the organization's strategy
  • Member of management
  • A proven track record of information security leadership
  • Maintain primary residence in and be employed by a business or oversee the security infrastructure of a subsidiary that is located in Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Texas and Wisconsin
  • Creates work environments that are positive and rewarding to employees
  • Nominees are asked to attend the Executive Forum and ISE Central Awards on Thursday, April 17, 2008 at the Westin Galleria Dallas, in Dallas, Texas as they will be recognized throughout the program. All nominees and their teams are invited to attend complimentary the Executive Forum and Awards

Information Security Project of the Year Central Award Requirements
The Information Security Project of the Year Central Award honors the key members of a team who have made the greatest positive impact their organization through implementing a risk management, enterprise data assets, privacy protection or information security project. The Project should have been completed in the past 12-18months and be able to show measurable results.

Information security vendors or information security services providers are not eligible to participate. Other characteristics of the Information Security Project nominee include the following:

  • The Project must have an Executive Sponsor. An Executive Sponsor can be a CSO, CISO, CTO, CIO, vice president, or director from IT, networking or security departments who was responsible for overseeing the creation, development, implementation and execution of the Project
  • The Project must involve risk management, data asset protection, regulatory compliance, privacy and/or information/network security performance of the company or organization
  • The Project should have been completed in the past 12-18months and be able to show measurable results
  • An organization may enter more than one Project, but each Project must be entered on a separate nomination form
  • The Project work must have been accomplished by team members where the majority of them are located in the central region including, Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Texas and Wisconsin
  • Project Award winners will be announced at the ISE Central Awards on Thursday, April 17, 2008 at the Westin Galleria Dallas, in Dallas, Texas. All teams submitting qualified nomination forms are invited to attend complimentary the Executive Forum and Awards.

All nomination forms must be received by 5pm EST, Friday, February 29, 2008 by email to isecentral@infosecaward.com. All nomination forms must be completed in their entirety to be considered by the Judges. The ISE Central Judges, an independent body of information security executives, will make the final decision on whether a nominee or project submitted is qualified to participate in the ISE Central Awards.
